Completed block

I have finished working on this block for now .I will be looking at it again later against the other ones I do. Februarys block is assembled and ready to work on .

Detail on fairy.

The fairy got a lace skirt three layers,her hair was done with bullions,her wings were covered with organza and the green ties ser six strands of floss.

Monday morning.

I don't have a computer that does that fancy writing so I wrote with a "Le Pen" January brings the snow,makes our feet and fingers glow.I added some mittens I've had for years 

And a snowflake on the one side and on the other, a pin that has a Red Cardinal done on silk screen which I found in a second hand store a while back and I love him I think he found the perfect home and a button from hobby lobby maybe add some more bits but it needs to sit a while and see.

Thursday's seam.

 A cluster of snowflake sequins which I've beaded .

First seams.

LSnow flakes extended on the bird and outlined with a bead in the middle will bead the tail feathers too. I added a bugle bead to the ribbon it will receive more not sure what yet.

This seam I added a white ribbon and did herringbone stitch and a white bead down one side .i would like to make this more elaborate too.

Block pieced.

This is January's block I've tried to keep it wintery also my main fabric has snowflakes throughout so it will be interesting to see what happens with that in the summer months . I've used a corner of a beautiful hankie with green tatting around the edge and some satin which is the solid blue and the skin colored fabric is taffeta.there is also a pice of a doily in the bottom corner a lovely piece of green cotton lace and a trim which I picked up in Kansas at the crazy quilt International retreat.the two blue pieces with the bird on the one on the left has a piece of netting over it, it gives it an interesting look. Now I'll look at it and decide what embellishment to do.
